This Antique Yomut "Main Carpet" is a Central Asian weaving, distinguished by its impressive scale and the rhythmic repetition of the iconic kepse Gul. Woven late 19th century the rug features a deep, multi-tonal mahogany field that showcases the "winged" diamond emblems in alternating diagonal rows of indigo, and ivory—a sophisticated use of natural madder and vegetable dyes. Its grand dimensions (345cm x 210cm) and intact long elem (end panels) with serrated tree motifs mark it as a rare survivor of the nomadic lifestyle, intended to serve as the heart of a prosperous family's home. While the low pile and honest patina reflect over a century of history, they only serve to enhance the rug’s appeal, offering a grounded, historical depth that makes it a singular focal point for a large interior space. Blanket soft to handle.
