This Persian Mehraban has several immersive elements. The smooth meanders of the main border are situated in between softly-drawn silhouettes of flying birds, a symbol of freedom. However, this ambience changes in the central field, which is slightly more cluttered as serrated leaves and skeletal plants sprout from the murky marine floor. Whilst the inclusion of a warm red helps to inject some visual balance, it does not take away the visceral feelings that this rug stirs up.
