This fascinating Kordi rug shows the diversity of Persian craftsmanship. The primary border, protected by 'medachyl' spikes, displays a slightly enigmatic pattern that resembles interconnected shrubs and birds, whilst the field is structured with a lattice of hexagonal medallions. Although a rich shade of red dominates the surface, outlines of deep blue and burning orange are added to make the motifs glow like embers.
