This Seychour rug fills the room with a visceral elegance. The inner and outer borders have a usual 'running dog' motif, that is rendered like coral formations in the sea, whilst a dreamy array of flowers float on the sweet strawberry-red frame. However, the most eye-catching feature has to be the Saint Andrew's cross in the field, abundant with natural imagery and shaded in a dark cerulean silhouette. Interestingly, the weaver tries to incorporate a second cross above, but the miscalculated proportions means a panel of flower heads is used instead. Overall, the expressive colour scheme and the floral fluidity of this rug gives it a slightly 'European' style that suits older decors.
