This rug boasts an array of intruiging imagery. A traditional well known rug from this central asian region. The main field is sectioned off into four sections, which may represent the windows to paradise, whilst the addition of the semi-circular niche makes the structure look like a tent. Whatever the intention of the artisan was, the practical importance of these pieces cannot be understated, as they would have originally been used as a door hanging for a Yurt.
