This smartly-presented Baluch has many understated qualities. The borders display an unusual mix of tribal imagery, that includes square-shaped motifs that resemble kufic art, and decorative pillars with the 'running dog' motifs either side of it. The central field contains eight arrow-shaped medallions that are lit in a striking indigo blue, a great choice of colour to add a pop of vibrancy against the orange ground. Although one panel shows significant wear, this imperfection adds another layer of personality to this thought-provoking rug.
