This well-drawn Kurdish rug exhibits many artistic features. The alternating bands of shimmering cerulean blue effectively cool the warm red ground alongside it, helping to establish a visual balance. This leads us to the main field, which is full of intricate, shield-like embelems that are rarely found in other Persian rugs.
This clever thing about this section is that it manages to use all the space without feeling cluttered, showing the spacial awareness of the artisan who made it. Above all, this rug has a great pile and a smooth texture due to the glossy wool. Unfortunately there are several condition issues, but it doesn't detract from the overall feel.
