Antique Persian Jozan rug of West Persia. Not commonly found and known. showcasing a striking terracotta-and-rust central diamond medallion with a detailed floral starburst core. This vibrant centrepiece rests upon a deep indigo navy blue field that is densely filled with flowing floral branches, stylized vines, and delicate blossoms. Strong geometric corner panels in matching rust tones frame the main field to create a beautiful sense of balance and symmetry. Wrapping the entire carpet is a traditional multi-layered border, featuring a main cream-coloured band with a repeating pattern of stylised rosettes and vines that provides a brilliant contrast to the dark interior. Woven with high-quality wool, this piece perfectly embodies the fine craftsmanship unique to the village of Jozan.
