This prayer rug displays an array of expressive motifs. Probably from the Karabagh region. Interconnected flower heads and a dynamic leaf and calyx pattern gives the border a great sense of rhythm, whilst the large flower heads and the midnight blue ground evokes a more tranquil feel in the main field. Another feature to note is the depictions of gazelles, birds and shrubs in around the semi-circular mihrab, a unique touch by the creator to further echo the natural flora and fauna of the caucuses.
