This wonderful Perepedil rug is steeped in traditional motifs. The line of boxed emblems on the outside is known as a Kufic border, whilst a variation of the leaf and calyx design protects the main field. It is here where the distinctive ram horns take centre stage, positioned horizontally and vertically around floral palmettes, camels and stars. Highlighted in electric shades of blue and red, these design elements radiate the proud identity of the Azerbaijanis who made it.
