Antique Bahmanli rug from the region of the Southern Caucasus.(also known as dragon Kazak) It features a striking vertical alignment of three geometric medallions—including the iconic central "crab" or stylised dragon motif—woven entirely with hand-spun wool on a wool foundation. The piece displays classic markers of historic authenticity, including extensive pile corrosion along its iron-mordanted dark brown wool lines, and natural horizontal colour variation (abrash) across the field. While the central field shows, honest low pile wear, the top and bottom fringes have degraded down.
