This late 19th-century antique Caucasian Khila Baku tribal rug features a rich dark indigo blue field with three prominent octagonal medallions containing geometric floral rosettes. The field is densely filled with rows of traditional boteh motifs, geometric birds, and tiny tribal elements, all framed by stepped corner spandrels. The multi-band border system includes a main ivory-ground border decorated with repeating starburst flowerheads, flanked by narrow geometric guard bands.
