Bold colours and tribal imagery are intertwined throughout this Antique Erivan. Familiar latched-hook squares dominate the border, whilst the intricate running water motif flows well along the sandy ground. As the scene transition onto the main field, hand-drawn horses, deer and flower heads flourish around the 'cloud band' design of the three polygons, with the middle one adorned in a striking skylight blue. Despite being a bold colour choice, the central placement of the medallion helps the rug retain its balance and symmetry.
