Cotswold Life

Cotswold Life

Looking at aerial map of Britain, it might be easy to miss out the Cotswolds. There are no large cities with sprawling suburbs. There are no high mountains or winding coastline. It is just a green area of 780 square miles situated in the middle of southern England. Or is it?

The area in and around the Cotswolds has always been perceived as a rural paradise. It is known for its honey-coloured homes and lush-green meadows. Sheep and  quality wool are also part of the history of the area. It has several iconic market towns that hold impressive titles. For instance, Cirencester is a roman town that is known as the ‘Capital of the Cotswolds’, whilst Bicester is recognised as Oxfordshires ‘Garden Town’. Other places are renowned for the people who reside there, as is the case for Chipping Norton, which is home to many celebrities. If you're looking for somewhere with more historic and literary significance, then Stow-in-the-Wold is home to the world famous ‘Tolkiens door’ of St Edward’s Church, that was the inspiration for the Doors of Durin. Now, you may be asking yourself what all these places have in common? Well, they are each home to one of our four outlets. By being based in these locations across the Cotswolds, it gives us the opportunity to provide visitors with rugs, jewellery and other decorative artefacts that are hard to come by elsewhere.

We always strive to stock interesting items, so whether you are looking for an Antique to decorate a Manor House, or simply searching for a gift for a loved one, you can be sure to find something unusual, in order to make you time in the Cotswolds extra special.
