A Journey

A journey is perhaps a metaphor for life. It can be difficult to see the next bump on the road, it can be scary to see where the next turn will lead. And yet, these roads lead us to places we have never expected to be. Our journey is no different.

It is difficult to place a starting point on where our journey began. SIEZ Gallery is more than just a business, its a family where we all are involved. Supplying interior designers on a personal basis from our home and to be closely involved in a renovation project of a well known Cocktail bar in our local area of Oxford which evolved in to trading at markets mainly around the Cotswolds. Our first shop opened in 2016 in the Cotswolds. This has gradually expanded over the years. Now, we are trading through several different outlets across the Cotswolds, including a Gallery in Stow on the wold and as a family we now reside in Broadway. 

Its easy to therefore think that we are the stars of the show, but in reality, it couldn’t be further from the truth. Our main aim is to shed a light on the real heroes: the Berber artisan carving a door in his small workshop, the Yemenite silversmith creating jewellery with limited tools, the girl carefully embroidering a Suzani textile for her future dowry gift. The relationship we have with them is through the pieces of art they created. These items will often go on a journey themselves, perhaps being passed down as a family heirloom or being traded in a local market. But maybe the most amazing thing is this: as you take the time to appreciate their journey, you become part of the story.
